What the heck is the difference? If youre like I was, you have no clue. All I new is that it was some type of techy thingy that they sold at places like Radio Shack. Well, Im not a very talented person when it comes to technology stuff. In fact it took me years to have my mom (the computer person) teach me how to cut and paste. All I really know how to do is type and surf the net. So I decided to figure this out. Ive jumped on my laptop and browsed for the answers to this question and jotted it down here for you to know my friend.Well, Ive found out that there are a lot of similarities between the two. Although IPODS are an older version thats memory is based on a hard drive like a computer. MP3 players mostly use flash players and discs. IPODS also happen to be more expansive, sometimes hundreds of dollars. While CD based MP3 players are around $50. While both allow you to download music from the net only the MP3 players that can also use CDs have the flexibility to do so. This is good if youre like me and not that technically inclined and all you want it for is to listen to your favorite tunes. Some will also let you save pictures to your player. Its kind of like a modern day pictures of the family in your wallet. Now, heres another thing, some IPODS have video capability, meaning you could download movies as well as music. How cool would that be? I can picture it now. Waiting at the airport or in a doctors office, bored out of your mind, just pull out an IPOD, pick a movie, and start watching it to pass the time. Or how about this? Its a long road trip and the kids are acting up. You hand them an IPOD with one of their favorite movies on it. Instead of them being bored watching cows chew their cud or what not they could be entertained by what they want to watch. Sounds like a more enjoyable trip to me.It also sounds like a great present for the military that are overseas. I had heard of a program that takes donations for such things. The following link is for one of the sites doing this. http://www.operationhomefront.net/ate_goods.htmsandiego/donNow where to shop for them at. Well theyve become so popular that you can get them wherever electronics are sold. Ive found them even at Wal-Mart. The cheapest one there I found was $25. The last Discman I bought was $45 and that thing is so bad the cover pops open constantly.I know what youre thinking. Great its more affordable and realistic, but what are the costs to download songs? Heres the thing, Ive looked over several sites and found that most of them have a monthly fee and/or a charge per download. Also little selection, like one or two genres to choose from. But Ive found one that shines above the rest. They also have MOVIE downloads available and GAMES too! Here some of the key points they have listed on their site:250 times faster!
