Tip #1: Purchase new items if hand-me-downs are more than a few years old. In the past decade, we have learned a lot about keeping infants safe. So, when your baby is sleeping, don’t be afraid to bundle them with blankets. You need more than just a thin blanket or sheet to keep your baby warm, even if it is the middle of summer. In addition, think about purchasing multiple sets of sheets that are all the same. That way, if one part of the set gets ripped or stained beyond use, you can substitute pieces from another set and no one will be able to tell the difference. Although your baby might not care, some children have extra sensitive skin and might not respond well to certain type of fabric. Others might have allergies to certain materials. Often, you can only discover this through trial and error, but take it into account when you are first purchasing bedding. In most cases, it is a better idea to go for the slightly higher quality than it is to purchase the cheapest option. Buying baby bedding is not a difficult process, however, it can be expensive. Remember, baby bedding should be safe and warm, but after you have taken care of those two aspects, feel free to look around for the best option for your child. A few other important aspects to consider are if the bedding is washed in hot or cold water, and also the color of the bedding if you have multiple children.
